Fantasia - Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
Fantasia Beuaty Boutique and MediSpa, Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness IV2 3LP
Service Description
Scalp PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is a procedure used to promote hair growth and treat hair loss conditions. PRP is a concentration of platelets derived from the patient's own blood. Platelets are rich in growth factors that play a crucial role in tissue healing and regeneration, stimulating hair follicles, promoting blood circulation and can improve the health and thickness of existing hair. This can result in the growth of new hair. and the improvement of density in treated areas. Typically performed in multiple sessions over several months to achieve optimum results. The exact number of sessions and treatment intervals may vary per individual, this is generally once every 4 weeks for 3 sessions. It's important to note that while scalp PRP can be very effective for certain types of hair loss such as Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA), Alopecia Areata and Telogen Effluvium, it may not be suitable for all individuals or all types of hair loss. Contraindications include (but are not limited to): Recent carcinomas in last 5 years; untreated auto-immune conditions; nutritional deficiencies; those on medications including Warfarin and Heparin; those with low platelets; pregnant or breastfeeding - please contact Highland Trichology to discuss any contraindications and check suitability. PRP will only be carried out after an Initial Hair & Scalp consultation to assess suitability. Please call 07739570680 or contact info@highlandtrichology.co.uk prior to booking if you have any questions. Consulting with a Trichologist or qualified medical professional, such as a dermatologist is recommended to determine if scalp PRP is an appropriate treatment option for your specific condition. So what happens during PRP treatment? Firstly, consultation and consent before making sure you are relaxed and comfortable. 1. Next we take a blood sample from the vein in your arm. 2. The blood is placed in the centrifuge and processed, separating the platelet rich plasma. 3. Now the PRP is processed again to separate the liquid protein. 4. Finally, we inject the liquid PRP into the affected areas. A course of treatment would be that of 3 sessions 4-6 weeks apart each taking around 45 minutes. This can be extended to allow further treatments. Please discuss this with us. How am I going to feel after my PRP session? Most patients have no issues. There may be a little discomfort during the session, swelling at site which shall pass and most patients will feel fine afterwards.
